To Strive and Let Go of Fear

by Terence Im

Addicted to fear, one can't see what's near

to the point where it feels like life itself begins to burn.

For what? Submission to the false inner seer who chains

Would-be noble hearts.

Fear is the antithesis to natural creative expression.

It can only ignite restlessness in one's

simplest movement or breath.

Is it possible to lay rest to

the temptation to constantly over-calculate

the naturalness of every step?

To strive,

to let go of fear,

to shine and regain love for all that's near;

maybe we can all enjoy the sweet honey of life,

as it already is,

here,

in the present moment,

by transforming our life into a kind of art that is

undefined by imagined plights,

and, by living life with clear sight that is

untainted by fears of yet-to-be-here demise.

Close your eyes and imagine a forest.

Hear the sound of gentle rain echoing nature's effortlessness.

Why fear?
